Who we are?
Free Medic is an entirely volunteer run organization and 100% of the donations go toward helping communities in need. This mostly includes poor people who are unable to afford medication on their own. We gather donations and medications. These are then sorted based on expiry and then distributed to the needy after consultation with the physician.
How it started?
Growing up in a country like Pakistan which is home to poverty and medical issues. Such developing countries undergo many basic issues related to food, shelter and health. Nowadays, having several diseases and treating them is a big task. Although, government is taking measures to educate people through media and other forums about hygiene, yet it is a difficult to control health issues and chronic diseases.
A lot of people keep medications at home which results in a huge pile and gets expired. The idea of giving away the unexpired medication comes to everyone every time they visit a hospital or pharmacy where people are unable to afford not only expensive and required medication but also the basic ones. However, no one can take any action as they are unable to identify the proper channel of giving away the unused medicines. This is how FreeMedic came to birth. The idea was put forward in the year 2017 and later worked actively when covid hit and the economy collapsed. This was the time when the doctors even became hesitant to see the patients. FreeMedic took voluntarily actions to gather medication and provide them to the deserved ones. This non-profit NGO is working actively in Pakistan as well as overseas to gather donations and support humanity.
